Eye-Catching Dots

This is a recently began drawing of mine. My last art teacher arranged for me this nature morte: an old cup, a pitcher with a branch of 'heaven apples' as i used in one of my deserts, and a stuffed bird. The technique of this drawing is really interesting. First, I constructed all the objects with a pencil, than I covered all the spaces with a transparent lining of watercolor. As this painting is a graphical one, I was asked not to use much of the watercolor technique. The next step was to model the shapes, volume and shades with the help of a black gel pen. At first sight it looks...easy, but trust me, it's a very hard, painstaking job! That's why I am showing it to you now! Because I don't know when I will be finishing it! Whenever I continue this drawing, I realize that I had done a very very small part of it in several hours. That's the result, when you want to cover a 55 x 45 cm paper with a 0.7 needled gel pen.
Hope you like the beginning of the drawing! Wish me luck!
