This chair really has a history. It was executed this November by my mother, from basically-nothing!
In this image, you can see the transformations this chair passed through. The idea of a white empire chair with colorful botanical print came to my mother at the end of November. In her opinion, it is something fresh, unusual and contrasting with the entourage she planed to place this chair. Now, I'll guide you through the metamorphose of a furniture object.
1. This wooden carcase my mother found in an old antique store, and she saw potential in it, deciding to give it a new life. We skinned it with emery, and washed it.2. In the next step, I painted the carcase of the old chair with white priming(rough-cast). I did that to make the surface smoother, and for the next layers of paint to stick better.3. After we painted the chair with white acrylic color, I covered it with matte lacquer for wood. Mother found this incredible vivid Italian fabric(silk), ornamented with flowers and birds. We got the the seat upholstery changed and covered with this unique fabric.
Usually, this chair has found its place in the bathroom, and it's really functional. And from times to times, you can find it in our 'turquoise birch glade' as well.
