1. Firestarter by The Prodigy
an immediate, yet an obsolete.. obsession. if someone asked me what is my religion, I would answer 'prodigy'. the fire starters. jesting apart, this track is awfully hot and speedy. the more you listen to it, the better you understand the fine combination of musical elements, with all of them matching perfectly and where nothing is misplaced. the most curious fact is that you never get bored of it. never. it was 1996 when the single has been released, I've discovered it some years later, I still listen to it and so does the whole world around me. it's the song I mostly prefer late at night, when I return home and have some dark and dangerous places to pass through :D 2. Twilight Omens by Franz Ferdinand
this is far from being a legendary piece, but it makes me feel in a very specific way. this might happen because of that stupid tendency of assuming a song's lyrics to your own sorrow :) and the gadget boys from glasgow know exactly how to almost make you cry, when they sing 'I typed your number into my calculator' or 'I hear the radio sing your name, should I give you a call?'. all these, along with the glamorous sound and the shiny voice, make 'twilight omens' my very favourite on 'tonight' (2009).3. In For The Kill by La Roux
I've always had issues with new music, I'm not an adventurer at all. but, when it came up to this track, thanks to RG, I couldn't stop listening to it. and I guess it's because of the voice, which reveals an acute feeling of pain and resentment. but, at the same time, it's a piece of electro and it perfectly keeps you in the rhythm. and I love the pithy sound of the bell. great job. and quite deserving lyrics, too.
