Almost 800 km of roads through 3 countries, 56 hours drive and half a year missing brought me back in Chisinau from my internship in Germany (Dortmund)… It’s good to see known places and to hare known words!!!  The frequently asked question these days for me: How was it??? Well, it was…my greatest aiesec experience until now….I convinced my self that aiesec is a big family, a huge group of friends. I don’t speak German, so I kind of had to handle with English in spite of the fact that not many of the people living there speak English…so most of the funniest moments were in trains, supermarkets and bus stations. Lived in an international dormitory with neighbors from Philippines, Tanzania, India, Argentina, Lithuania, Romania, Turkey and other sides of the world. We shared one kitchen for a floor and there I found out more about Masai from Africa, cooking in Turkey, Muslims in Philippines, Yoga and marriage in India. Worked for TKG Company in marketing field. Here I got in touch with lots of German culture: working habits, corporative parties….and I have to mention that one of the owners of the company is an ex aiesec Exchange participant in Tunisia. People from Aiesec in Dortmund left pleasant thoughts in my mind: Some of them I can call friends now. Even the aiesec members were a mixing of people from all over the world: Bulgaria, Morocco, Russia, Greece…so Germany really is a mixing of nations. I experienced….really fast driving on the autobahns… got to know traditions for German parties (Christmas, Birthdays, Cooking together, popular song parties,)…visited clubs with over 3 dance floors in the same place (for all kind of music tastes)… sweet popcorn…. football euphoria….carnival fancy-dressed people on the streets…German catholic churches…shopping… It is that kind of experiences in which you discover new about yourself, new about the world, break stereotypes…live!!!  On the 10th of may we will organize a Learning Circle mainly changing opinions on this topic…so if you are interested be there!!!
