Putin’s inauguration took place, again, in spite of everything. Sunday protests were exactly about that and apparently they will happen again and again in the future as a projection of the hope that each time a new step will be taken towards reaching a critical mass sufficient for shaking Putin’s power vertical.
Putin’s exuberant confidence in his total power seems to be unshakable by such annoyances. If anyone wonders, he’s got the foundation, or better said, he’s made sure the foundation is there, from high turnout presidential elections, aggressive youth groups nurturing a personal cult of Putin to powerful media securing the right domestic consumption messages.
Whether Sunday clashes were provocations or not, police brutal reaction is definitely not going to decrease from the willingness of the opposition to further carry their protest actions.
