Economic wellbeing: EIFL-PLIP innovation award NOW OPEN Award 1 – Contribution to economic wellbeing of the community

This Innovation Award is for libraries offering any service that contributes to the economic wellbeing of the community. See the text on the right for some examples.

Examples: innovative services that use ICT to provide agricultural information and other services to improve farmers’ livelihoods, or support the work of agricultural offices and extension agencies; improve employment prospects and help jobseekers find work; build people’s entrepreneurship skills and support enterprise and small business development; improve financial literacy skills and any other service that improves livelihoods.

To enter the competition, you must meet all of the following criteria:

When can you enter?

This call is open from 2 April – 31 May 2012. The deadline is May 31. 

What will you win?

  • Each winner will receive US$1,500; and
  • The opportunity to attend an international conference / gathering to present your service; and
  • International publicity – EIFL-PLIP will share your story widely through its publicity channels.

The award will be presented at the Beyond Access 2012 Conference in Washington DC, USA, October 2, 2012.

Number of awards

There will be more than one award in this category. The number of awards will depend on the quality and diversity of applications received.
