"Communicating with your camera" photography course with Robert A. Reeder — Day Two

The second day was dedicated to depth of field and shutterspeed / aperture stuff. Unfortunately for me the course is not as much about photojournalism as about basic principles of photography. However most of my colleagues really need that basic information. And I still have the opportunity to bomb Robert with questions and get as much of his time as I can focused on issues of interest for me.



Today's exercise was including one of our colleagues as the dominant figure in a photography and playing with different shutterspeed, aperture, ISO and movement.


For this pic I closed the aperture down to f/22, used ISO 100 and 1/5 of a second shutterspeed. By using that a slow shutterspeed moving objects become blurry like the man on the right.
