Turn your Twitter avatar green and show support for Iran protesters

If you’re on Twitter, you’ve probably noticed that a number of users now have a green avatar. That’s to show their support for democracy in Iran, where Twitter has become a vital tool for those protesting the allegedly rigged results of the elections.

In fact, for days, #IranElection has been the top Trending Topic on Twitter, which even postponed the site’s scheduled maintenance at the request of the US Government, working around the Iranian timezone.

Of course, you could edit your photo manually. But if you want to turn your Twitter avatar green with one click, you could check out http://helpiranelection.com and just follow the instructions.

Another site you could check out is http://creativebits.org/twitter/green_support_icons_twitter_iranelection_campaign, which offers you a choice of different green support icons you can use as your Twitter avatar.

If you know of other sites, just post them here.
