Staying at The Knickerbocker in New York

Probably one of the best stays I’ve ever had at a hotel. When you travel as much as I do (ok not so much this summer, which is a total anomaly) little things become so important in order to make you feel at least a little bit like home, make you feel comfortable not just physically but also spiritually. Well, the staff at the Knickerbocker definitely took care of that. Having arrived at the hotel a little too early the room wasn’t available, which I knew would happen and was ready to leave the luggage in storage and come back later. However, the staff offered us a complimentary lunch as a “sorry” that the room wasn’t ready yet. Of course it would have been rude to deny the invitation, but also totally inappropriate to let my stomach empty for long, so we went to enjoy ourselves. By the time we finished our second round of rose the room was ready and we had enjoyed one of the nicest meals during our trip to NYC.
