Though Fashion weeks are nothing new to me, this season was very different since I covered London Fashion Week as a Maybelline Digital ambassador. The joy of attending the shows and being one of the first people to see the collections can’t be substituted with anything. However, this season, Maybelline opened a new side of fashion week, the beauty secrets.
I think we all don’t realize how important makeup, nails, hair are. We always see the clothes, notice the prints, the textures, the silhouettes, but in order for us to be able to admire all of that, dozens of stylists are working on the perfect style that only enhances the details of the collection. Maybelline gave me the opportunity to go behind the scenes of fashion shows, and see how everything happens.
From pearl nails (I’m so trying this!) at Shrimps to a young and pretty makeup at Osman, Maybelline managed to play around all the different colour palettes, prints and styles, creating the perfect image.
Discovering the backstage was interesting, but my favourite part of being the Maybelline Digital Ambassador was the challenging to change my look every day. From a natural girlish makeup, to evening smokey eyes and ombre lips, the Maybelline products took me above and beyond the boundaries of my comfort zone.
And now a few moments of my “off duty” life during Fashion Week:
At the Rick Owens x Selfridges Party with Siobhan, one of the original Sugababes. Wearing a Rhea Costa dress, Swarovski bracelet, Saint Laurent bag and Christian Louboutin shoes
With lovely Kara at the BoF 500 celebration party, wearing a Maison Bohemique dress, Olya Shikhova earcuff and Casadei thigh high boots
Wearing Maison Bohemique crop top and blazer, Asos leather skirt, Follie Follie jewellery, Olya Shikhova ear cuff, Celine bag and Christian Louboutin shoes
And of course, one of the coolest events of LFW… the Maybelline Party!! With Wallis Day and Lilah
Love,
D xx
