Moldova's constitution demands equaltreatment for all citizens. Moldovanlaw, however, segregates citizens into two differnt groups, and gives one groupan additional right compared to the other group.
Those who became citizens by birth inMoldova, or by the fact of their residence in the country at independence, have theright to hold the citizenships of other countries as well as Moldova.
On the other hand, those who becomeMoldovan citizens by naturalisation are required to give up all othercitizenships.
This differential treatment of citizens isunfair and unconstitutional. Parliamentshould act to make the rules on multiple citizenship the same for all.
