-a period in ones life when you want to be an adult
-when you think you are an adult
-when you argue with your parents and teachers
-when you want to try everything without thinking about the consequences
and…
- the period we will never forget!
Working with teens is, in a way, going back to that time: the memories, the atmosphere, the words. It is diffciult to motivate them to do something besides computer games. It is not easy to gain their respect and to behave in a specific way so they could respect you almost like they respect a teacher. And it is difficult to convince them that you care about their development and the developing programm which has to bring an impact and a change in their lives.
It’s been a week since i am working at the FRCCF, but i feel like a baby, that did only his first step. For this week i have been part of the group, playing intelligent games with them, attending classes that they did. Involving myself in explaining them why it is important to not be always shy, but to go for your dream, to work for it with a lot of courage. I improvised a job interview and i talked why it is important to be dressed decent, to talk clearly, to answer corectly, to prepare for the interview a day before. I know it is not what teens want to do in summer time, that is why we also played ping pong(and they actually are teaching me how to do it right
) and badminton, and “magic shop” and “quallities we have” and of course…they had their “saint” hours at the computer
)))
Another week comes and i am preparing for it. And there are some goals to achieve…
With eXchangefull love,
Oliandra
p.s. i cannot put photos from where i work. sorry. i know you can understand
