He uses the same format of the attitude setting the tone for actions and results. Even people who do not live by or teach Biblical principles understand the way that a person's attitude impacts his actions determining if the results will be positive of negative (see modern psychology teachings). There have been all kinds of books on the power of positive thinking. The problem with positive thinking without the power of God working in your life is that you still end up messing things up because of your sin nature. When God is removed from the equation, the wisdom of this world leads to destruction (see the American educational system since 1963, when God was asked to step out of the building). Paul is wise because he teaches the power of positive thinking, having that positive thinking based on the teachings of the Word of God.
