The Soviet Story is a movie that shows the reality of the 1940 when the Soviet Union took Bessarabia (Republic of Moldova nowadays) from Romania’s land. Since 1940, when Stalin and Hitler signed the Ribbentrop-Molotov pact of division of Central Europe, Bessarabia was a part of the USSR until 1991, when it claimed its independence, becoming Republic of Moldova.
The movie presents a statistic: more than 20 million people died because of the Communists and Nazi.
Today, on June 28, there are commemorated 70 years since Moldova was annexed by the Soviet Union.
