Dark chocolate is loaded with antioxidants, which help rid your body of free radicals, which cause oxidative damage to cells. Free radicals are also components in the aging process. So eating antioxidant-rich foods like dark chocolate is one way to help slow the signs of aging!

Eggplant!

Did you know the colorful eggplant is a great food source to help prevent skin aging? Like wild blueberries, eggplant is packed with antioxidants, which fight oxidative stress, which is linked to skin aging. Also–the eggplant is a fruit, not a vegetable, and is actually classified as a berry!

Avocados!

Did you know that avocados are known for their anti-aging properties? It’s true! Avocados contain glutathione, which slows the aging process, boosts immune systems and promotes a healthy nervous system! Avocado oil is also added to many skincare products and cosmetics because of its ability to nourish and brighten the skin!

Cherries!

Did you know eating fresh cherries is a great way to help your skin? Cherries are known for their anti-inflammatory properties, and are rich in anti-oxidants, which help fight free radicals! They are also packed with vitamins A and C.

A homemade mask of cherries crushed with a fork (remove the pits) plus a teaspoon of honey and a few drops of lemon juice is a great home remedy to treat acne, moisturize and soothe damaged skin!

Carrots!

Carrots are a great source of vitamin A–a key nutrient for healthy skin. A shortage of vitamin A can cause dry skin. They are also packed with antioxidants, which fight free radical damage in skin cells. Carrots are also a great source for fiber, vitamins K, C and B6, as well as potassium and thiamine!
