Pentru a exprima acţiuni întrerupte în trecut se foloseşte Trecutul Continuu (Past Continuous)
Exemple:
She was talking on the phone when he arrived. (Vorbea la telefon când el a intrat.)
What was she doing when you asked her the question? (Ce făcea când ai întrebat-o?)
