Beginning with May, more patients will benefit from medical emergency assistance. The Minister of Transports has renewed a helicopter intended for medical emergencies. The service will be used for offering faster medical assistance to people in critical situations.
For example, by using this helicopter, a patient can be transported from Briceni to Chisinau in only 75 minutes, which is twice faster compared to a normal ambulance. Moreover, the gyroplane has special medical equipment that allows the doctors to offer full assistance right away.
Furthermore, 32 airstrips of the republican hospitals in Chisinau and the country have been already inspected, as to comply with the flight requirements and the security norms. The aim of the ongoing process is to have starting strips in each region in Moldova. At the same time, not only patients will be transported, but also the grafts from donors, for those in need.
By developing this service the health minister Andrei Usatîi is hoping that more patients will get the medical assistance at the right moment, and thus increase their chances of survival!
