International Opera and Ballet Festival “Maria Biesu” reached the XXI edition. The event will run from 6 to 15 September 2013 on the scene of National Opera and Ballet Theater. In the current edition of the Festival “Maria Biesu” the public will have the joy of hearing exceptional voices from Austria, Armenia, Italy, Germany, Romania, Russia, USA, Turkey, Ukraine and Moldova.
September 6 – On the first day of the Festival will be presented the opera “Aida” by Giuseppe Verdi, conducted by famous Austrian, Friedrich Pfeiffer.
September 7 – For the second day of festival is scheduled ballet “Don Quixote” by Ludwig Minkus,conductor Alexei Baklan from Ukraine.
September 8 – For the first time at the festival “Maria Biesu” was invited the Chamber Music Theater “Boris Pokrovsky” from Moscow that will present comic opera “Die drei Pintos” by C.M. von Weber, G. Mahler.
September 9 – During this evening we will be able to watch the opera “La Boheme” by Giacomo Puccini, at the desk being Austrian conductor Friedrich Pfeiffer.
September 10 – The State Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet “A. Solovyanenko” from Donetsk, Ukraine, will provide a “Choreographic Entertainment”.
September 14 – Towards the end of the Festival “Maria Biesu” will be the premiere of the opera “Pagliacci” by Ruggiero Leoncavallo directed by Sandu Vasilache.
September 15 – At the Concert Hall “Palatul National Nicolae Sulac” will be held the Awards Ceremony of International Opera and Ballet Festival “Maria Biesu”.
We recall that the International Festival “Maria Biesu” was founded in September 1990 by the National Opera chief vocalist Maria Biesu who dreamed and managed to bring in Chisinau some of the best voices in the world of opera.
