Atlantic Ocean Road
The primary reason for visiting the Atlantic Ocean Road or the Atlantic Road (Norwegian: Atlanterhavsveien) was because we knew that this is probably the only place in Norway where there is no toll collection 
. We monitored carefully since it was opened in 1989 how its cost of 122 million Norwegian krone (NOK) is being covered by the collection of tolls from rich caravanners from Western Europe. Actually collection of tolls was scheduled to run for 15 years, but by June 1999 the road was paid off and the toll removed. Yes, indeed caravanners from Western Europe rushed to see the Atlantic Ocean Road and I guess this could be one of the primary reason for EU bankruptcy . Enough of EU scepticism, we have experts in this area.

Pretty nice ahh ?! The only problem was that Per-Gunnar (you remember the pilot) was slightly busy in Sweden rescuing a drunk reindeer and he couldn’t spoil us with another helicopter trip around the Atlantic Ocean Road. The other problem, we were out of the Moldovan secret weapon (the cognac) so we just had to satisfy ourselves with a simple ride in a Mercedes from the WW2 times.
The scenery around the Atlantic Ocean Road was pretty nice, however we won’t call it as the “Norwegian Construction of the Century” as it was recently awarded. We would even hesitate to recommend to drive such a long distance just to visit this place. You have to be a huge car enthusiast/fan of automotive commercials/collector of the best road trips in order to visit this place. We believe that in the Southern part of Norway (close to Bergen/Stavanger) there are more specular places which combine nice views and amazing bridges.
