Îngerului Bisericii din Laodicea scrie-i: „Iată ce zice Cel ce este Amin, Martorul credincios şi adevărat, începutul zidirii lui Dumnezeu: „Ştiu faptele tale: că nu eşti nici rece, nici în clocot. O, dacă ai fi rece sau în clocot! Dar, fiin…dcă eşti căldicel, nici rece, nici în clocot, am să te vărs din gura Mea. Pentru că zici: „Sunt bogat, m-am îmbogăţit, şi nu duc lipsă de nimic”, şi nu ştii că eşti ticălos, nenorocit, sărac, orb şi gol, te sfătuiesc să cumperi de la Mine aur curăţit prin foc, ca să te îmbogăţeşti; şi haine albe, ca să te îmbraci cu ele, şi să nu ţi se vadă ruşinea goliciunii tale; şi doctorie pentru ochi, ca să-ţi ungi ochii, şi să vezi. Eu mustru şi pedepsesc pe toţi aceia, pe care-i iubesc. Fii plin de râvnă dar, şi pocăieşte-te! Iată Eu stau la uşă, şi bat. Dacă aude cineva glasul meu şi deschide uşa, voi intra la el, voi cina cu el, şi el cu Mine. Celui ce va birui, îi voi da să şadă cu Mine pe scaunul Meu de domnie, după cum şi Eu am biruit şi am şezut cu Tatăl Meu pe scaunul Lui de domnie. И Ангелу Лаодикийской церкви напиши: так говорит Аминь, свидетель верный и истинный, начало создания Божия: знаю твои дела; ты ни холоден, ни горяч; о, если бы ты был холоден, или горяч! Но, как ты тепл, а не горяч и не холоден, то извергну… тебя из уст Моих. Ибо ты говоришь: `я богат, разбогател и ни в чем не имею нужды’; а не знаешь, что ты несчастен, и жалок, и нищ, и слеп, и наг. Советую тебе купить у Меня золото, огнем очищенное, чтобы тебе обогатиться, и белую одежду, чтобы одеться и чтобы не видна была срамота наготы твоей, и глазною мазью помажь глаза твои, чтобы видеть. Кого Я люблю, тех обличаю и наказываю. Итак будь ревностен и покайся. Се, стою у двери и стучу: если кто услышит голос Мой и отворит дверь, войду к нему, и буду вечерять с ним, и он со Мною. “And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write, ‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God: “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or …hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked— I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”’” (NKJ Revelation 3:14-22)
