The town is situated by the southern end of Sweden's second largest lake, Vättern. With a sandy beach running through Jönköping, it is considered a very beautiful city.
1. BikeRollerblading- along the beach and other places from Jonkoping.
2. Swimming- If you have guts you can have the opportunity to take a swim in the second largest lake 'Vättern' but we do not recommend you that. Great student price offers the biggest pool from Jonkoping: Rosenlunds badet. It consists of 10 basins, shower seats 44, 900 units and nine different saunas.
3. Parks
-Jönköpings stadspark. It takes aproximately 10 minutes from school. This park comprises a football facility Stadsparksvallen. This park offers you the possibility to watch football, play miniature golf or hockey (absent), to feed the birds in the pond, looking at the stuffed birds in the museum, pet goats or playing in Jönköping's largest playground.
- Nature Reserve 'ROSENLUNDSBANKARNA'.
Nice place to be on a sunny Sunday. On the flip you have also a nice view over the lake and the island Visingsö.
- Nature Reserve 'Bondberget'.The reserve is a highly appreciated and popular recreation area and forests criss-crossed by numerous trails, jogging tracks. This reserve comprises shower, sauna and restaurant, mini golf and petanque. Ski facility Järabacken has several slopes, snow and warm shelter.
In order to reach there it requires to take Bus 2 from the University, or buses 13, 15 from Huskvarna to stop Öxnegården. Bus stops for two King Ängsskolan, go south to get to the meadow east meadow with old oaks. Bus 12, 30 from University to stop Bond Hill or Bokgatan bypass Ekhagen sports to nature reserve north-western part.
Other interesting parks that you may practice outdoor activities or just enjoying the nature are: Huskvarna stadspark, Södra Parken etc.
4. Cinema. A sweet movie always is needed on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
There are several cinemas in Jönköping, and the prices vary. The normal price for a ticket is 85 SEK, but some cinemas are cheaper. To find out which films are running, you can look in the local newspaper Jönköpings-Posten, or call the cinema. Films are usually subtitled in Swedish.The cinemas in Jönköping are:
